Incoming students may request support measures for teaching or exams equivalent to those already approved by their home university. Special educational needs of incoming exchange students will be assessed upon submission by the home universities of the measures they have granted.

Switzerland and the EU agreed on Switzerland’s association to Erasmus+ in 2027. The Swiss Parliament still has to grant the necessary budget; should Switzerland’s association to Erasmus+ be delayed, the SEMP would continue in 2027. We will keep our partners updated on all developments.

Università della Svizzera italiana was among the new signatories of the Magna Charta Universitatum 2020 at the anniversary event held in November 2025, in London. USI's application to sign the Magna Charta was promoted and prepared by the International Relations and Study Abroad Service.

The International Relations and Study Abroad Service, together with ESN Lugano, organize a buddy programme for incoming exchange students. Incoming students will receive all the necessary information to request a buddy before the beginning of their exchange.
