The ERC scheme funds ground-breaking frontier research projects across all fields of science on the basis of scientific excellence and they are open to researchers of any nationality (with 7 to 12 years of research experience after award of their PhD).
The topics addressed in the 2018-2020 Work Programme cover the ICT technology in a comprehensive way, from technologies for Digitising European Industry, HPC, Big Data and Cloud, 5G and Next Generation Internet.There are now several open topics, with submission deadline on 16 January 2020
BRIDGE Proof of Concept helps young researchers to apply their research results and gain the confidence needed to make a market entry.Grants are awarded for a duration of 12 months and cover salary costs of the applicant as well as employees plus some research funds (max. CHF 130’000).
ERC Proof of Concept grants aim to maximise the value of the excellent research that the ERC funds, by funding further work (i.e. activities which were not scheduled to be funded by the original ERC grant) to verify the innovation potential of ideas arising from ERC funded projects.
