The SNSF is amending various provisions in the General implementation regulations for the Funding Regulations, effective date 1 July 2022. The provisions apply to all funding schemes and this will create more flexibility for researchers.
-The salaries of the project partners' employees can now be charged to the grant. Services provided by partners and subcontractors must not exceed 20% of the grant- The programmes “Protected research time for clinicians” & “Grants for exemption from teaching duties" will be interrupted from 2025
- For travel, conferences and workshops, grantees can claim travel and care costs for accompanying children- The maximum chargeable costs for material of enduring value and equipment are now set at 100.000 CHF. Co-funding by the institution is not required
- SNSF will accept budgets under the old and new regulations- The rights granted to grant recipients at the time of the award decision remain valid- The SNSF will only apply the new regulations to pending applications and grants if this will not disadvantage researchers
