The SNSF Doc.CH grants are awarded to promising researchers who wish to write a dissertation in the humanities and social sciences (SSH) in Switzerland on a topic of their own choice.
The Doc.CH grants require applicants to be matriculated as a PhD student in Switzerland. Please verify the internal matriculation process with the USI faculty of your interest well in advance if you are not yet a PhD Student as this might take several weeks.
- Swiss or have a Swiss degree or are already matriculated as PhD students - Submission up to 3 years after master’s degree- 2 supervisors from different institutions- Applicants must be matriculated as PhD students on the project's starting date
A Doc.CH grant covers the grantee's salary and the funds needed to carry out the project. The funding is awarded for two to a maximum of four years.
15 March and 15 September 2023, 15 March 2024. As of 2025 the Doc.CH scheme will be discontinued as per the Multiyear programme 2025-2028, where the SNSF will focus on career funding starting at the postdoc level.
