SWEET (SWiss Energy research for the Energy Transition) is a funding programme of the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE). SWEET targets solution-oriented research and innovation activities that are key to implementing Switzerland’s Energy Strategy 2050 and achieving its climate goals.
Through thematic calls, SWEET funds inter-/transdisciplinary approaches to energy research that result from close collaborations between the SSH and the natural sciences and engineering. Consortia must reflect the diversity of Switzerland’s research and innovation community.
The aim of the sixth SWEET call is to analyse the influence of the energy transformation on critical infrastructures and the vulnerability of the energy system to technical natural and societal hazards, especially those that are influenced by climate change. The call has a total budget of CHF 8M.
The consortium must be led by a Swiss institution of higher education and must involve at least 5 different institutions:• 1 ETH Domain • 1 Swiss universities of applied sciences• 2 implementation partners from the Swiss industry and/or private sector • + other research or implementation partner
Consortia of max. 10 members can request max. CHF 8M for 6 years for personnel, equipment, subcontracting and other project-related costs (excluding overheads and amin costs). Larger consortia will be penalized by receiving less funds. Each member must commit own and/or third-party funds.
