Can CH-based researchers apply for EU grants?

Yes, CH-based researchers receive funding by the SNSF, Innosuisse or a Federal Office to join a consortium with at least 3 countries. Consortia can bring together stakeholders from research, innovation and the private sector. Have a look at the calls below and contact us to check your eligibility.

Biodiversa+

Biodiversa+ is rolling out a new call focused on nature-based solutions for biodiversity, human well-being and transformative change. The SNSF funding for the Swiss part amounts to max CHF 750K per applicant for 3 years. The SNSF expects to support 7-8 projects.

Pre-Proposal: 22 November, Full proposal: 27 March 2024

Clean Energy Transition Partnership

For research, technological development and innovation proposals on energy transition. The SNSF funding for the Swiss part amounts to max CHF 750K per applicant for 3 years. No max. budget for SFOE funding. Expected number of supported projects: 1-2 funded by the SNSF and 10-15 by SFOE.

Pre-proposal: 21 November, Full proposal: 30 April, 2024

Driving Urban Transitions

For research and innovation projects that tackle urban challenges towards a more sustainable economy. Max. funding by the SNSF: CHF 750K per applicant for 3 years. No upper limit for Innosuisse or DETEC. Expected number of supported projects: 1-2 funded by the SNSF, 5-8 by Innosuisse and 8 by DETEC.

Water4All

Water4All supports research and innovation projects on aquatic ecosystem services. The SNSF funding for the Swiss part amounts to max CHF 750K per applicant for 3 years. The SNSF expects to support 2-4 projects.

Pre-proposal: 15 January 2024, Full proposal: 27 May 2024

ERA4Health

ERA4Health has just launched the call on “Modulation of brain ageing through nutrition and healthy lifestyle” (NutriBrain). The SNSF funding for the Swiss part amounts to max CHF 750K per applicant for 3 years. The SNSF expects to support 3-4 projects.
