Enhance your career and your scientific profile with a mobility stay or a fellowship at an early stage! The following opportunities are aimed specifically at doctoral students.
USI Doc Mobility grants support doctoral students matriculated at USI and not employed on an ongoing SNSF project; the grant of up to CHF 20k covers a research stay abroad for 6-12 months. In 2024 there will be 3 deadlines: 8 January, 2 April, 5 August.
SNSF Mobility grants support doctoral students employed on an SNSF research project, who wish to conduct a research stay abroad for 6-12 months. The grant covers travel, living costs and conferences fees up to CHF20k. Submission all year round (no later than 8 months before the end of the project).
Postdoc Mobility grants support postdocs with max. 3 years’ experience after their PhD exam, for a research stay abroad of 24 months. The grant covers subsistence costs (amount based on the host country), travel expenses and research and conference costs. Deadlines: 1 February and 2 August.
For outstanding postdocs who have obtained their PhD max. 5 years prior to the call deadline. This research grant of CHF 600K enables the fellows to work on their projects in any disciplines, at an academic institution anywhere in the world, for up to 5 years.
swissuniversities manages government scholarships of over 30 countries. Scholarships for a study or research stay abroad are offered to Swiss students and researchers. Non-Swiss nationals may also apply for scholarships of certain countries as long as the applicant resides and is matriculated in CH.
