The SNSF Doc.CH grants are awarded to promising researchers who wish to write a dissertation in the humanities and social sciences (SSH) in Switzerland on a topic of their own choice. After the last submission deadline on 15 March 2024, there will be no further call of the Doc.CH funding scheme.

Financial support for doctoral students matriculated at USI not employed in an ongoing SNSF project, for a 6-12 months research stay abroad during their PhD. Financial support of up to CHF 20'000 covers the costs for staying abroad.
SNSF Mobility grants are aimed at doctoral students employed in an ongoing SNSF research project who wish to conduct a research stay abroad for 6-12 months. The mobility grant covers travel and living costs as well as fees for conferences and workshops up to CHF 20’000.
Swissuniversities supports PhD theses conducted between a Swiss and a foreign university, under the direction of two supervisors. The allowance of CHF 10’000 covers travel and living expenses of the PhD student and the PhD supervisors. Applicants must be matriculated as PhD students in Switzerland.
