MAPS is a new funding instrument, mandated by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), that supports collaborative research projects, in any disciplines, between scientists in Switzerland and Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Poland and Romania.
Same rules as Project Funding:• PhD at least 4 years before the call deadline or independent position;• Employed at least 50% at an eligible research institution;• Able to carry out the project independently.
• 1 applicant in Switzerland;• min. 2 and max. 5 applicants in Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Poland or Romania;• Only 1 applicant per country (no co-applicants in the same country);• Only 1 proposal per applicant;• Institutional support letter required from applicants in partner countries.
• Max. CHF 350K for 3-4 years per applicant. • Applicants in Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary, and Romania can request their own salary (the salary of the Croatian and Swiss PI are NOT eligible).
• Deadline for pre-registration: 1 May 2024 (not mandatory)• Deadline for proposals: 1 July 2024 at 17:00 (via mySNF)• Parallel applications required for Croatia (by 1 July 2024 at 12:00) and Romania.• Decision: by end of March 2025• Start of the project: 1 April - 1 July 2025
