The new transitional arrangement allows researchers in CH to participate in the ERC Advanced Grants 2024 call (ERC AdG). Their proposals are evaluated by the ERC Executive Agency. In case of approval, and if an association agreement is not in place by then, SERI will directly fund the projects.
ERC AdG are open to established, leading researchers in any field of research. The ERC grants operate on a 'bottom-up' basis without predetermined priorities and fund ground-breaking, ambitious long-term projects. The AdG call opens in May 24 and closes on 29 August 24.
Advanced Grants award up to € 2.5 million for a period of 5 years (pro rata for projects of shorter duration). Budget covers 100% of the direct costs plus a contribution of 25% towards indirect costs.
Proposals are evaluated by remote experts and by discipline-specific panels in a two-step evaluation procedure. Selected applicants are invited for an online interview in front of the panels in the second phase.
Reviewers evaluate the ground-breaking nature, ambition, and feasibility of the project, as well as the intellectual capacity, creativity, and commitment of the applicants, focusing on the extent to which they have the required scientific expertise and capacity to successfully execute the project.
The Swiss ERC National Contact Points organize an online info-event on Tuesday, 14 May 2024, 12:00- 13:35, to present essential information on conditions of the 2024 ERC AdG call, as well as providing tips and advice from a Grantee and Panel Member.Registration directly on the Euresearch website.
