The Swiss Data Science Center (SDSC) is a National Research Infrastructure supporting data science and AI in Switzerland. SDSC launches its first National Calls for collaborative projects set to begin in 2025.The following calls for collaborative projects are announced.
• Supports researchers in solving research questions, incorporating expertise and data science techniques to create scientific and societal impact in different domains• Contributes with competences in Statistical data science, ML, AI, computer vision, natural language processing and optimization
• Aims to ensure that novelty developed in an academic or research context achieves its full potential in end-user contexts• Industrialization of research prototypes• Adoption of data science solutions in public sector entities• Translation of ML models
• Seeks projects to develop sustainable and reusable data and software infrastructure with scientific and societal impact• Aims to advance the Swiss National ORD Strategy by fostering collaborative development• Seven distinct tracks
SDSC contributes specific expertise:• personnel is allocated in-kind based on the project needs (typically 0.5 to 1.5 FTE per year)• computational resources are allocated in-kind for carrying out the project• the nature of contributions is based on the project needs
• Applicants must have the relevant qualifications to contribute to the proposed project• Applicants must be in a position to carry out projects and lead project staff• Employment at least for the duration of the project or assurance of such employment in writing
• Submission of pre-proposals: July 15, 2024• Invitation to submit full proposals: August 19, 2024• Submission of full proposals: September/October 30, 2024
