R'Equip is aimed at researchers in Switzerland who need top-quality, innovative equipment for their research work. The SNSF awards grants for the acquisition and development of large-scale apparatuses in all areas of science.
A grant pays for the acquisition of equipment worth at least CHF 100,000. It generally covers up to 50% of the acquisition costs and amounts to a maximum of CHF 1 million. Additional funding from other sources must therefore be obtained.
Researchers who work at the envisaged location of the research equipment and are willing to assume part of the responsibility for its use and maintenance are eligible to submit an application.R'Equip applications may be submitted by one or more applicants.
You need a written confirmation from USI that the research equipment conforms with the strategic orientation of the organisational unit to which it will be allocated and that the maintenance and operation of the acquisition is guaranteed.
• A list of other user groups besides the applicants that may benefit from the requested research equipment• An overview of the estimated acquisition costs based on the quotations obtained by the applicants
• Scientific quality of the project to be conducted using the research equipment• Quality of the requested research equipment• Number of research groups that will benefit from the research equipment and the scientific qualifications of the researchers participating in these groups.
