Thanks to the progress in the negotiations between Switzerland and the EU, the EU has decided that Swiss-based researchers can participate as “beneficiaries” in the ERC Starting Grant 2025, Synergy Grant 2025 and Consolidator Grant 2025 calls.
This means that proposals of researchers who apply to the ERC Starting Grants, ERC Synergy Grants, and ERC Consolidator Grants 2025 with a host institution located in Switzerland will be evaluated by the ERC Executive Agency and will be informed about the Step 2 evaluation results.
ERC StG 2025: opens 10.07.2024, deadline: already on the 15.10.2025;ERC SyG 2025: opens 11.07.2024, deadline: 06.11.2024;ERC CoG 2025: opens 26.09.2024, deadline: 14.01.2025.The transitional arrangements already apply to the Advanced Grant 2024, currently open for submission(deadline 29.08.24).
If positively evaluated, grant agreements for all of the above calls may be signed if the association agreement with Switzerland applies at that time.If that is not the case, SERI will directly fund successful proposals with the funding amount requested from the ERC, including overhead costs.
