Offered by the SERI Leading House for South Asia (ZHAW), the “Connect & Collaborate Grants” support researchers, at all career stages, employed min. 40% at a CH institution, in conducting interdisciplinary workshops, conferences and teaching activities together with partners in South Asia.
The NRP 84 2nd call focuses on the social sciences and humanities aspects of plant breeding innovation. Applications from the ethics of innovation, social sciences, science education, anthropology, history, communication and media, economics and law are welcome. Funding: max. 500K for 42 months.
The foundation awards a total of CHF 20K to projects in science and technology that contribute to improving quality of life. Eligible projects in 2025 should address challenges in urban management, social integration, communication, or cultural development, offering solutions within 2-5 years.
The foundation is interested in improving quality of life and life expectancy for patients. It offers 2 calls per year, supporting young group leaders in the medical sciences with max. CHF 400K for 3 years, and funding translational research by consortia with max. CHF 3M for 3 years.
The Foundation for Technology Assessment (TA-SWISS) will launch a call for proposals on “Solar Radiation Modification”, “Relationships and Digitalisation”, and “Quantum Technologies”. While the timeline is yet to be announced, interested researchers are encouraged to stay tuned for updates.
The Swiss AI Initiative has opened calls for disruptive research projects to distribute GPU hours at CSCS Alps infrastructure. Contributions to advances in AI fundamentals or impactful applications of AI are welcome. Research projects can be small (about 50k GPU hours) or large (>500k GPU hours).
For individuals or teams affiliated to Swiss academic institutions. The call grants 20K to 50K GPU hours for 6 months.
For team of applicants led by a member of the ETH Domain. The call grants >500K GPU hours for 1 year. Further funds for technological transfer, communications, networking activities can be requested. Personnel funds are restricted to ETH Domain.
