The Interreg Italy-Switzerland program 2021-2027 supports cross-border innovation, sustainability, and regional development by funding joint projects involving partners based in Italy and Switzerland. The second submission window for ordinary projects opened on 10 March and closes on 10 June 2025.
The call aims to support sustainable development, innovation, and regional collaboration across borders between IT and CH. Projects must focus on: (1) fostering a smarter economy, (2) promoting green resilience, (3) enhancing mobility and/or (4) strengthening cross-border governance.
Interreg allocated EUR 26.3M (Italy) and CHF 10.3M (Switzerland) for this call.Min. funding per project: EUR 200K. No minimum or maximum duration, however projects usually last 24-36 months. Projects must end by 30 June 2029.
For public institutions and private entities with or without profit based in CH Cantons / IT Provinces across the IT-CH border.CH universities can lead the consortium except for innovation projects (ref. O.S. 1.1).CH partners must commit 50% of their budget with own or third-party contributions.
Later in 2025, Interreg will launch a new call for Small-scale projects (max. EUR 200K for 12-18 months). Projects must target the following priority axes: - biodiversity and green infrastructure, - cross-border healthcare and public health and/or - cultural heritage and sustainable tourism.
