Great news! Switzerland has passed the European Commission's assessment to participate even in the restricted calls for proposals in 2025 for Horizon Europe (HE) and Digital Europe Programme (DEP) in AI, quantum, communications, and space technologies. Get ready to submit your proposals.
Swiss-based applicants must apply to the calls with identifier 2025 onwards as “beneficiary” (and not as “associated partner”). This is the only way to get funded by the EC should CH become fully associated. You also must include your budget in the total amount requested by the consortium.
EU projects allow you to strengthen your R&I network, cooperate with a wide range of partners and diversify your funding portfolio. Contact the Research Service (servizio.ricerca@usi.ch) to get support with your budget and overall application.

The DEP is an EU programme aimed at accelerating the digital in EU providing funding (budget €8.1 billion) to answer 6 specific objectives:1. High Performance Computing2. AI3. Cybersecurity & Trust4. Advanced Digital Skills5. Deployment, accelerating best use of technologies6. Semiconductors
The EC provides direct funding generally covering 50% of the total project budget. SERI may provide national co-funding of up to 50%. If you plan to apply for co-funding for any DEP participation, please inform SERI by completing the dedicated online form.
