If you wish to conduct research abroad, this call is for you! The SNSF Postdoc.Mobility fellowships support a 24-month research stay abroad, that can be followed by a return phase to Switzerland lasting 3 to 12 months.
To be eligible for this call, you need to either hold a PhD obtained no more than 3 years before the call deadline or be expected to obtain one within 9 months of the submission deadline. Additionally, you must hold Swiss nationality or a Swiss residence/commuter permit.
This funding covers a 24-month research stay abroad, including up to CHF 5’000 per year for research costs, in addition to subsistence and travel expenses. The return phase to Switzerland can last from 3 to 12 months and it covers the applicant’s salary, along with max. CHF 5’000 for research costs.

Candidates must have obtained their PhD within 4 years since the call deadline and must have completed at least 12 months of postdoctoral research activity.
The grant covers the grantee’s own salary + max. CHF 400’000 for project-related costs for max. 4 years. The grant can include a 1-year research stay abroad, salaries of project staff, conference participation and the organization of workshops.
Candidates must send their CV (incl.publication list), motivation letter and letter of support from the host professor to servizio.ricerca@usi.ch by 25.08. The Rectorate will assess the internal candidatures and decide on the institutional support after consultation with Dean and Institute Director.

Applicants must have defended their PhD thesis between 2 and 8 years prior to the 1st February 2026. Moreover, they must have at least 2 years of research experience and a link to Switzerland, such as having completed a PhD/Master’s in CH or done research in Switzerland or holding Swiss nationality
The grant covers the grantee’s own salary + max. CHF 1M for project-related costs for max. 5 years. The grant can be used to cover project staff (e.g. PhD, postdocs, research assistants) and research costs (e.g. consumables, travel, conferences, Open research Data and equipment).
Successful candidates will be appointed assistant professors without tenure track. For this reason, an internal procedure is necessary. By 5 September, submit to the Research Service CV+publications, cover letter, eligibility form, and min. 1 letter from a USI professor.
