CH organizations applying to the MSCA Staff Exchanges (SE) & MSCA Doctoral Networks (DN) must do so as ‘Beneficiaries’. CH counts towards the maximum person months per consortium (360 for SE, 540 for DN). At the approval, should the association agreement not be in place, SERI will fund the CH part.
The MSCA DN aim to create doctoral training programmes. The SE support short-term international and inter-sectoral exchanges between staff members from academic and non-academic organizations. Applications must be submitted by consortia.
For both calls, proposals are evaluated based on “excellence”, “impact”, “quality, and efficiency of the implementation”. Proposals scoring ≥70% may be funded. For MSCA DN, resubmission is allowed only for scores ≥80%.
MSCA DN fund new doctoral programmes offered by academic organizations based in at least 3 EU countries (Members States or Affiliated). Involvement of non-academic organizations in the network is strongly encouraged. DN aims to train creative, entrepreneurial and highly skilled PhD students.
The grant covers PhD fellowships of 3-36 months (3-48 mos. for joint doctorates) including:• living (+163.8% for CH)• relocation (“mobility”)• family costs (if appl.)• project-related costs• OH (€1200 per month).PhDs students must have an employment contract with the recruiting institution.

MSCA SE promote innovative international, inter-sectoral and interdisciplinary collaboration in research and innovation through short-term exchanges of research, technical, administrative and managerial staff supporting R&I activities.
The grant funds mobility from 1-12 mos. for each staff, with €2710/mo. per staff doing the exchange + €2300/mo. for the sending organization. Staff should return to their organizations after the secondment. Staff exchange among the involved parties must take place within a period of up to 4 years.
