The Clean Energy Transition Partnership (CETP), co-funded by the EU and over 30 participating national funding agencies like the SNSF, funds transnational projects that aim to deliver impactful results in research, innovation and system transformation towards a clean energy transition.
CH based applicants can participate in 5 out of the 10 call modules. The SNSF will only fund the following modules: • energy system flexibility• renewable power technology• heating and cooling solutions• integrated regional energy systems• integration of clean energy into the built environment
Swiss-based researchers, devoting at least 50% of their time to research, are considered eligible for the call. Applicants can join or lead a consortium with partners from 23 EU and 14 non-EU countries, involving at least 3 researchers from 3 different countries.
Funding per project: EUR 500K-5M for 12-36 months.Funding for the Swiss part: The SNSF provides a minimum of CHF 100K per project, and a maximum of CHF 250K per year per applicant. CHF 850K will be allocated for this call to fund 2-3 projects.
Pre-proposal can be submitted until 9 October 2025. This 10-page document must outline the objectives, methods, expected impact and work plan. Proposals selected for phase 2, will be invited to submit a full proposal by 12 March 2026. Approved projects must start no later than 15 December 2026.
