Are you an early career researcher who wishes to lead and manage an independent project at a Swiss higher education institution? This call is for you! Ambizione supports postdocs from all disciplines with 1 to 4 years of experience after their PhD, helping them consolidate their scientific career.
At the call deadline (4 November 2025), applicants must meet the following criteria:• No more than 4 years since the completion of their PhD, or 9 years since their medical degree (MD);• Min. 12 months of postdoctoral research activity (or min. 3 years of clinical work in case of MD).
Interested candidates are required to submit the application form, their CV (including publication list), a motivation letter and a letter of support from the host professor to servizio.ricerca@usi.ch by August 29. The Rectorate will evaluate the applications and decide on the institutional support.
The grant covers the grantee’s salary for a max. duration of 4 years, along with project-related costs of up to CHF 250’000. These costs may include a 1-year research stay abroad, participation in conferences, and personnel (e.g technicians or scientific collaborators, but not PhDs or postdocs).
