For interdisciplinary projects in any discipline. This highly competitive program supports, with EUR 10M for 6 years, ground-breaking research proposed by teams of 2-4 investigators with complementary backgrounds to tackle ambitious problems that could not be addressed by the individual researchers.
EU projects enable you to strengthen your R&I network, collaborate with diverse partners, and diversify your funding portfolio across various topics.Swiss-based applicants must apply as “beneficiaries” and their budget must be included in the total amount requested by the consortium.

For consortia across min. 3 participating countries, to develop and deploy innovative solutions to tackle energy system challenges, from technological breakthroughs to system integration and policy frameworks. The SNSF will fund 2-3 CH-based projects with max. CHF 250K for up to 4 years.
SNSF Scientific Exchanges are aimed at researchers who want to invite colleagues from abroad for a research visit to CH, visit their colleagues in another country or host their own scientific event in CH. Funding: CHF 2.5-25K.
The Research Partnership Grants allow CH-based researchers, at all career stages, to partner up with researchers in Africa (except Maghreb and Egypt) to conduct early-stage joint activities that lay the groundwork for larger collaborative projects. Funding: max. CHF 40K for up to 12 months.
In 2025, the only open Innosuisse bilateral call is with Germany (IraSME). Looking ahead, Innosuisse confirmed that in 2026 the bilateral calls will be with South Korea and the United Kingdom, offering new opportunities for researchers.
