| SNIS annual call for proposals SNIS funds pluri-disciplinary collaborative projects on issues that can only be solved through international cooperation. Projects must involve or study NGOs, international organizations (IOs) and/or private sector actors. Social sciences with or without natural sciences are accepted. |

| 2026 SNIS Call This year’s SNIS theme is “Re-thinking Multilateralism”, reflecting the adaptation challenges currently facing the International Geneva ecosystem. While the core parameters of the call remain unchanged, the 2026 edition introduces a few important novelties. |

| What's new? -Proposals must include an endorsement letter and at least one team member from an IO/NGO. -Eligible research fields:governance, security, digital, trade, inequalities, migration, law, human rights, health, climate, sustainability. -The project budget must include a 7% provision for an impact phase. |

| Who can apply The project coordinator and co-coordinator must have a doctorate and be employed at least at 40% at a Swiss Higher Education Institutions for the duration of the project. |

|
| Funding and duration Max. CHF 300'000 for 2 years. Co-funding (in-kind and cash contributions) of at least 25% of the requested funds is necessary. |
