Financial support for doctoral students matriculated at USI, not employed in an ongoing SNSF project, for a 6-12 months research stay abroad during their PhD. Financial support of up to CHF 20'000 covers the costs for travel, living costs and fees for conferences and workshops.
Swissuniversities supports co-supervision of PhD theses between a Swiss University and others abroad (Europe/Israel). The funding covers up to CHF 10’000 for travel and living expenses of both the PhD student and the PhD supervisors. Applicants must be enrolled or employed at a Swiss institution.
The postdoctoral fellowships programme offered by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) enables researchers based at a Swiss research institution to stay in Japan for 12 to 24 months. The grant covers round-trip, monthly allowance and other expenses.
Funding for researchers with a doctorate (or completing it within 9 months after the deadline) to conduct research abroad. It covers research costs (up to CHF 5K per year), a flat-rate for living/travel expenses and conferences costs for a 24-months abroad phase plus a 3-to-12 months return phase.
