Who can apply?

• min. 6 months before PhD to max. 3 years since PhD/MD-PhD or min. 6 months before Dr.med to max. 8 years since MD + min. 3 years clinical work
• CH nationality, permit C, marriage/partnership with CH citizen or PhD/Dr.med degree holder/candidate from CH institution + no prior postdoc abroad.

 

What is the scope of the call?

Postdoc.Mobility supports a research stay abroad
• at 1 or more research institutions (min. 4 months each)
• at industrial/administrative institutions (max. ¼ total)
• non-CH nationals may return to their home country, if justified
• not at education place
• stay in CH allowed for max. 1/3 total.

 

Funding and duration

The fellowship covers grantee’s subsistence costs abroad, according to SNSF rates, (+ child allowance), + up to CHF 5’000 per year for research and conference costs. Duration: 12-24 months.

 

How can you apply?

Application involves a lot of documents, including SNSF-compliant research plan, SNSF CV, statement of mobility, confirmation letter(s) from host institution(s), support letter(s) from foreign mentor(s). For this reason, it is crucial to start early.

 

Return Grant

During a Postdoc.Mobility fellowship, grantees may apply for a Return Grant, complementary funding that supports their return to CH by covering the salary at a CH institution + up to CHF 5'000 for research and conference costs. Duration: 3–12 months.

Applications will be evaluated on the applicant’s scientific profile, project quality and relevance and host institution’s added value. For Return Grant, career impact of return to CH is also assessed.
