| For talented researchers ERC CoG supports individual researchers with and excellent track-record that are consolidating their own independent research team or programme. Applicants should have already shown evidence of research independence. Success rate: ~11,2% (call 2025). |

| Internal deadline and procedure Internal candidates without a professorial position and external ones must submit their candidature to servizio.ricerca@usi.ch by 4 September:
• eligibility form, • CV + publication list, • motivation letter, • letter/s of support from USI professor/s.

| For frontier research ERC funds frontier research in any discipline. It welcomes proposals addressing new and emerging fields of research, or introducing unconventional, innovative approaches and scientific inventions. Applicants must demonstrate the ground-breaking nature, ambition and feasibility of their proposal. |

| New from this call • Now open to researchers 5–15 years after PhD (instead of 7-12 yrs.) • Applicants may receive only 1 ERC Starting Grant and 1 ERC Consolidator Grant in their career. |

| Funding and duration • Up to € 2 M + additional funding up to € 1M (€ 2M for extra-EU based) • Budget covers 100% of the project costs, incl. 25% OHs • Co-funding is not required • Duration: up to 5 yrs, pro rata for shorter duration |

| Evaluation procedure Proposals are evaluated by selected international peer reviewers and by discipline-specific panels in a two-step evaluation procedure. Selected applicants are invited for an online interview taking place in early fall 2027. Final results are expected in December 2027.
