With PF, you can collaborate with "project partners" anywhere in the world or even team up with "co-applicants" at a Weave, Lead Agency or International Co-Investigator Schemes country.

The SNSF and the Spanish State Research Agency (AEI) have reached an agreement to accept joint applications from researchers based in Switzerland and Spain, taking turns to evaluate the proposals. In 2026, submissions must be done to the AEI. In case of approval, the SNSF will fund the Swiss part.

The SNSF is involved in several European partnerships, including Biodiversa+, DUT and many more. These initiatives allow researchers based in at least 3 different participating countries, including CH, to submit joint proposals. Evaluation is done centrally; funding nationally.

For joint research and innovation projects focusing on understanding novel ecosystems. Projects should be interdisciplinary and engage society and policy. The SNSF anticipates funding 7-8 projects with CHF 400K each for 3 years.

For basic and applied research projects tackling urban challenges towards a more sustainable economy. The call topics are: "Circular Urban Economies", the "15-minute City" and the "Positive Energy Districts" Transition Pathways. SNSF anticipates supporting 4-6 projects with CHF 400K each for 3 years

For joint fundamental and applied research projects focusing on accelerating the transition to a sustainable forest bioeconomy. Projects are expected to contribute to implementation in policy, management or industry. The SNSF anticipates funding 2 projects (TRL 1-4) of CHF 400K each for 3 years.
