The SNSF has introduced two transitional calls compensating for the exclusion from some parts of Horizon Europe, namely the ERC Advanced Grants and the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships.
This call compensates for the exclusion from the ERC Advanced Grant call 2021. This call is aimed at established researchers who wish to conduct innovative, high-risk research in Switzerland.
The SNSF Swiss AdG opens on 1 October 2021 and closes on 1 December 2021. Interested parties need to pre-register by 1 November on mySNF and provide a Summary of application, host institution, disciplines + keywords.
Up to CHF 2.5 million (incl. 15% overhead) for a period of max. 5 years.The budget covers personnel costs (incl. salary of the PI), material costs (including equipment travel costs, use of infrastructure, …) disseminations activities, necessary for the realization of the project.
Open to researchers from any discipline and any topic. Applicants must have a track-record of outstanding research over the past 10 years and must be established leaders in their field.
These fellowships are intended for post-doc researchers with max. 8 years experience after the PhD, who wish to pursue further scientific training at a non-commercial research institution in Switzerland.
The call opens on 15 October 2021 and closes on 15 December 2021. Applicants need to pre-register by 15 November 2021 on mySNF and provide a summary of the application, host institution, disciplines and keywords.
Fellowships at a Swiss Institution for 12 to 24 months.The budget covers the postdoctoral fellow's salary (incl. social security contributions), research and conference costs.
Open to researchers of any nationality, from any disciplines and topics.Applicants must have a PhD degree and max. 8 years of postdoctoral experience.Applicants must not have resided or carried out their main activity in CH for more than 12 months in the 36 months prior to the deadline.
Transitional solutions will also apply to ERC Starting Grants and ERC Consolidator Grants for 2022 in case Swiss researchers are still excluded from the European calls. SERI will publish further information regarding measures for the 2022 calls in due course.
