Our Summer School courses are delivered as interactive workshops taught by experts from leading universities around Europe. In each workshop, the instructors carefully balance the theory with practical examples and hands-on exercises.
The objective is to provide participants with the theoretical foundations for designing, implementing, conducting and analyzing experiments using a wide range of methods, but also to learn the applied aspects of experimental social science.
This workshop aims to provide participants with a practical hands-on, and theoretical understanding of new methods in content analysis made possible by applying digital technology to text corpora. This approach scales from words to documents to large text corpora.
This course aims to introduce the core concepts and methodologies for web scraping and data mining approaches in R. Participants will learn about the sources and types of online data that can be accessed by social scientists and develop skills in how such data can be scraped/harvested/extracted.
During Summer School in Lugano, you will experience an international and multidisciplinary atmosphere, with ample opportunities to get to know other course participants, both on- and off-campus!
