As a side-event to the global UNESCO MONDIACULT conference in Mexico, we are hosting an online live talk on "Machu Picchu: digital media for sustainable preservation, communication and flow management" on Sept. 26 @ 18.30 (CET), in collaboration with the UNESCO Chair - University of Genoa.
This second online side-event on "Cultural sustainability in tourism: management models for heritage sites" will take place on Sept. 27, at 12:30 (CET). It is realized in collaboration with Brazilian colleagues from Federal Uni of Minas-Gerais and Federal Uni of Jequitinhonha and Mucuri Valleys.
The 7th edition of the USI UNESCO Chair Summer School was realized in collaboration with Trisakti School of Tourism, in Indonesia from 16th to 23th of August, 2022. It was a great learning experience for everyone and the first USI UNESCO Chair Summer School in Southeast Asia.
10 new students from India, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Switzerland, Ukraine, and USA have started the Master in International Tourism. We wish them all the best on their journey to shape the future of tourism, preparing to be protagonists of tourism worldwide.
Chair holder, Prof. Cantoni, visited Brazil in June 2022, within the scope of the AUDITORIUM project, which aims at developing a model of cultural sustainability indicators for the management of tangible and intangible heritage, mainly in tourist places enlisted as UNESCO World Heritage Sites,
USI UNESCO Chair participated to the first Executive Board Meeting of ATHENA. ATHENA (Association of Tourism, Hospitality and Events Networks in Academia) has the mission of sharing knowledge, experience and expertise, and supporting scientific excellence in tourism amongst research globally.
Angela Antonia Beccanulli, Ph.D candidate in Management and Innovation at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Milan, Italy) is joining us as a visiting scholar. Her current research topics include object-consumer relationships, smart technologies and tourism, and cultural branding.
