Dall'1 al 5 dicembre 2025 torna la Lugano AI Week, cinque giorni di incontri, workshop e dimostrazioni dedicate all'intelligenza artificiale. USI, IDSIA USI-SUPSI, L'ideatorio, USI Startup Centre e CCdigitallaw parteciperanno con numerosi interventi, panel e attività aperte al pubblico.

Nato negli USA, il Black Friday si è trasformato in un fenomeno globale con effetti sul comportamento dei consumatori, sulle strategie dei rivenditori e sulle dinamiche digitali. Due esperti dell'USI, Ksenia Silchenko e Zachary Estes, ne spiegano rischi, leve psicologiche e potenziali benefici.

Al Congresso Svizzero di Oncologia ed Ematologia 2025 sono stati premiati il Prof. Cavalli, il Prof. Rossi, il Prof. titolare Stathis e il Dr. Ghilardi per contributi di rilievo in oncologia ed ematologia, confermando il ruolo di primo piano di IOR e IOSI nella ricerca svizzera.

Giovedì 11 dicembre 2025 alle ore 17:15, presso l'aula A21, Palazzo rosso del Campus Ovest di Lugano, si terrà "USI Townhall: la parola al corpo studentesco", un incontro riservato alle studentesse e agli studenti dell'USI per dialogare con la Rettrice e i vertici dell'ateneo.

L'USI e il Panathlon Club Lugano sono lieti di invitarvi al quarto appuntamento della rassegna "USI incontra", che vedrà protagonista Ruth Metzler-Arnold. Giunta dapprima a diversi traguardi professionali e politici, oggi è Presidente di Swiss Olympic. L'evento si terrà martedì 9 dicembre alle 18.

"With Hasan in Gaza", documentario prodotto dalla ricercatrice di dottorato presso l'IMeG Flavia Mazzarino e diretto dal regista Kamal Aljafari, è stato nominato agli European Film Awards 2026 nelle categorie Miglior Film Europeo e Miglior Documentario.

Mercoledì 17 dicembre l'USI organizzerà un incontro informativo sui bandi dell'European Research Council (ERC), con la partecipazione del Dr. Daniele Mammoli e la presentazione di contributi dedicati al supporto interno USI, uniti all'esperienza diretta di un ERC grantee.

Venerdì 12 dicembre dalle 11:00 alle 12:30, presso l'Aula A12 del Palazzo Rosso, una guest lecture di Marco Sassòli affronta cosa definisce uno Stato nel diritto internazionale, tra criteri giuridici, realtà politiche e autodeterminazione, analizzando anche il ruolo del riconoscimento formale.

Da giovedì 4 a sabato 6 dicembre, presso la Facoltà di Teologia di Lugano, si terrà la conferenza “Eugenio Corecco l’americano” dedicata ai trent’anni dalla morte del celebre teologo e canonista, per ripercorrere il suo pensiero e la sua ampia ricezione internazionale. La partecipazione è gratuita.

Con lo scadere dell’accordo Read & Publish con Springer Nature a fine 2025, è possibile uno scenario “no-deal” dal gennaio 2026. Le Biblioteche USI informano sugli impatti per lettura e pubblicazione e invitano la comunità accademica a valutare con attenzione le alternative disponibili.

Mercoledì 10 dicembre dalle 10 alle 12, in Aula 250 (Campus Ovest), le studentesse e gli studenti del Bachelor in Comunicazione presenteranno i lavori del corso "Parlare in pubblico" mettendo in scena le competenze acquisite con l'Accademia Teatro Dimitri in un momento aperto a tutta la comunità.

La Legge federale sui brevetti d'invenzione è attualmente oggetto di una revisione che porterà la Svizzera verso un sistema brevettuale più moderno e flessibile, allineato agli standard internazionali. USI Transfer evidenzia in modo sintetico e mirato i punti di maggior rilievo della riforma.

Martedì 16 dicembre un evento di networking riunirà gli alumni del corso Business Concept, ma anche studenti e ricercatori interessati alle startup, per ascoltare consigli concreti di due founder e assistere ai pitch finali dei progetti sviluppati durante il Business Concept Life Sciences.

79 persone, di cui 16 nuovi donatori, si sono presentate alle giornate di donazione del sangue organizzate dall’USI e dalla SUPSI questa settimana sul Campus Est. Un caloroso ringraziamento a tutte e tutti i generosi partecipanti.

Lo scorso 27 novembre gli studenti e le studentesse dell'USI hanno potuto partecipare al workshop "Research for Impact, Impact for Research", che segna l'inizio della nuova iniziativa dell'USI Positive Impact Research Market (PIRM), co-finanziata da swissuniversities.

Lunedì 15 dicembre si terrà un incontro promosso dal Servizio pari opportunità dell'USI e rivolto alle ricercatrici di dottorato e post-dottorato. Un'opportunità per presentare le proposte di Mentoring accademico e Borsa Shadowing promosse a sostegno delle carriere femminili.

Paola Ghezzi ha ottenuto il Master in Management all'USI nel 2014. Attualmente ricopre il ruolo di Marketing Manager presso l'azienda 4IT Solutions a Gravesano.

At the Swiss Oncology and Hematology Congress 2025 Prof. Franco Cavalli, Prof. Davide Rossi, Prof. Anastasios Stathis and Dr Guido Ghilardi were honoured for their significant contributions to oncology and haematology, confirming the leading role of IOR and IOSI in Swiss research.

"USI Town Hall: Hear the Student Voice" will be held on Thursday, 11 December 2025, at 5:15 pm, in the West Campus Lugano, room A21 Red building. The encounter is reserved for students to facilitate an open dialogue with the Rector and the University's management.

On Wednesday, 17 December, USI will organise an information session on the European Research Council (ERC) calls for proposals, with the participation of Dr Daniele Mammoli and the presentation of contributions dedicated to USI internal support, combined with the direct experience of an ERC grantee.

On Friday, 12 December, from 11 am to 12:30 pm, in Room A12 of the Red Building, a guest lecture by Marco Sassòli will address what defines a state in international law, including legal criteria, political realities and self-determination, also analysing the role of formal recognition.

From Thursday 4 to Saturday 6 December, the Faculty of Theology Lugano will host the conference "Eugenio Corecco the American", dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the death of the famous theologian and canonist, to retrace his thinking and his wide international reception. Participation is free.

The Federal Law on Patents for Inventions is currently undergoing a revision that will bring Switzerland towards a more modern and flexible patent system, aligned with international standards. USI Transfer highlights the most important points of the reform in a concise and targeted manner.

On 16 December, an informal networking event will bring alumni of the Business Concept course, as well as students and researchers interested in startups, to listen to insights from two founders and watch final pitches of projects developed during this year’s Business Concept Life Sciences course.

79 people, including 16 new donors, attended the blood donation days organised by USI and SUPSI this week on the East Campus. A warm thank you to all the generous participants.

On 27 November, USI students had the opportunity to participate in the workshop "Research for Impact, Impact for Research", which marks the launch of USI's new initiative, the Positive Impact Research Market (PIRM), co-funded by swissuniversities.

On Monday, 15 December, a conference will be held, promoted by the USI Equal Opportunities Service and aimed at doctoral and post-doctoral researchers. This will be an opportunity to present the Academic Mentoring and Shadowing Grant proposals promoted to support women's careers.
