I numeri dell'anno accademico 2023-2024

Continua la crescita della popolazione studentesca: l'anno accademico 2023-24 conta 4309 studenti e studentesse, un centinaio in più rispetto allo scorso anno. L'USI si conferma inoltre una "research intensive university", ottenendo circa 27 milioni di franchi di fondi di ricerca competitiva.

PET-Recycling all'USI

Nell’ambito di una corretta gestione dei rifiuti riciclabili, ogni anno la ditta PET-Recycling, su mandato dell’USI, raccoglie le bottiglie in PET (nel 2022, ben 780 kilogrammi per il Campus Ovest Lugano) rilasciando un certificato con la quantità di gas serra non emessi e petrolio risparmiati.

The growth in the student population continues: the 2023-24 academic year sees 4309 students, a hundred more than last year. USI also confirms itself as a "research-intensive university", receiving around CHF 27 million in competitive research funding.

For the time being, no agreement that meets swissuniversities' requirements on Read&Publish contracts has yet been reached with the two publishers Elsevier and Taylor&Francis. Contract negotiations with Elsevier and Taylor&Francis are continuing, but an agreement by early 2024 is unlikely.

To ensure proper management of recyclable waste, every year the company PET-Recycling, on behalf of USI, collects PET bottles (in 2022, as many as 780 kilograms for West Campus Lugano), issuing a certificate with the amount of greenhouse gases not emitted and oil saved.
