Il 7 febbraio a Mendrisio è stato presentato il Teatro dell’architettura, la nuova struttura dell’Università della Svizzera italiana ideata al fine di favorire il dibattito culturale nell’ambito dell’architettura e delle arti visive, in stretta relazione con le altre discipline dell’Università e con il territorio.

Da febbraio ad aprile si terrà un ciclo di sei conferenze pubbliche per riflettere e discutere sulle sfide future della medicina: la prima - "Corpo aumentato, corpo riparato" - si tiene oggi, lunedì 19 febbraio, alle 20.30 al Centro sportivo di Tenero.

Riprende il ciclo di incontri sul Medio Oriente Mediterraneo (MEM) tenuti all’USI dal noto politologo e orientalista Gilles Kepel. La prossima conferenza si terrà giovedì 22 febbraio alle 18.30 nell’auditorio del campus di Lugano e sarà il primo di tre appuntamenti dedicati alle rivolte che hanno scosso la regione.

Progetto sulla leucemia sostenuto dal Consiglio europeo della ricerca

Il Dr. Davide Rossi ha ricevuto un ERC Consolidator Grant, prestigioso finanziamento competitivo erogato dal Consiglio europeo della ricerca, per studiare la leucemia linfatica cronica, la più comune negli adulti.

Oggi inizia il terzo MOOC offerto dall’USI, che si inserisce nella serie apertasi sulla comunicazione online per il turismo e proseguita con Dante. L’obiettivo formativo del corso è quello di offrire un’introduzione all’architettura e al mestiere di architetto.

Giovedì 22 febbraio alle 17.30 (aula A12, campus di Lugano) Paolo Bonzini illustrerà come siano stati possibili gli attacchi informatici verificatisi all’inizio dell’anno. A tema anche il ruolo del software nel mitigare questo genere di problemi e possibili soluzioni a lungo termine.

Il nuovo ciclo di conferenze tratterà il tema della diversità: quella delle culture, degli argomenti, dei luoghi, delle istituzioni e soprattutto delle persone. Il primo appuntamento è con il prof. Fabio Pusterla dell’ISI e avrà luogo martedì 27 febbraio alle 17.30 (aula A12, campus di Lugano).

Martedì 20 febbraio alle 17.00 in aula A12 (campus di Lugano) il prof. della Facoltà di scienze della comunicazione Gabriele Balbi e il delegato CEO di Swisscom Stefano Santinelli dibatteranno sul futuro delle telecomunicazioni in Svizzera. L’incontro sarà l’occasione per presentare il progetto #servizipertutti.

The series of lectures on the Middle East Mediterranean (MEM) held at USI by renown arabist and political scientist Gilles Kepel resumes. The upcoming lecture will be held on February 22 at 6.30pm in the Lugano campus auditorium. It will be the first of three encounters dedicated to the uprising that shook the region.

A new project to fight leukemia funded by ERC

Dr. Davide Rossi has been awarded an ERC Consolidator Grant, the prestigious competitive funding provided by the European Research Council, to research chronic lymphatic leukemia, the most common form of leukemia in adults.
