L’USI ha pubblicato la nuova versione del Rapporto sulla sostenibilità e l’impatto ambientale. Il documento funge da strumento per monitorare i risultati e pianificare le misure da attuare nell’ambito della sostenibilità ambientale, sociale ed economica dell’USI.

Dal 6 al 10 ottobre, la Startup Week tornerà nel campus per avvicinare gli studenti al mondo dell’imprenditoria innovativa. Grazie a diversi eventi, i partecipanti avranno l’opportunità di conoscere il mondo dei venture capital, incontrare imprenditori e scoprire come trovare un co-fondatore.

Il FNS contesta i tagli ai fondi federali dettati dalla Confederazione, previsti dal 2027 nella misura del 10-11%. Nel contempo, avvia misure di risparmio per tutelare la ricerca e denuncia il rischio di indebolire il polo scientifico svizzero, compromettendo occupazione e competitività del Paese.

Il colosso cinese dell'e-commerce lancia in Svizzera il modello local-to-local, aprendo la piattaforma ai venditori locali. Michael Gibbert, Professore ordinario di Marketing presso l'USI, avverte: "È il classico cavallo di Troia, una collaborazione senza senso per le imprese elvetiche".

Greta Guarda e Roger Geiger, Professori presso la Facoltà di scienze biomediche dell'USI e Group leader presso l'Istituto di ricerca in biomedicina, hanno ripercorso i progressi dell'immunoterapia in ambito oncologico in un articolo realizzato in collaborazione con laRegione.

Martedì 30 settembre a Bellinzona, alle 17:00 presso la sala Bios+, si terrà la Castelgrande Lecture con il prof. Rino Rappuoli, eminente esperto di vaccinologia. L’evento, parte dei festeggiamenti per i 25 anni dell’IRB, verterà sul contributo dei microbi nell’affrontare i cambiamenti climatici.

Il 3 e il 4 ottobre l’USI ospiterà la 29a edizione del Premio Möbius, dedicata al rapporto tra giovani e democrazia nell’era digitale. Il programma prevede gli interventi di Gabriele Balbi, Eleonora Benecchi e Colin Porlezza, inerenti a media, informazione e partecipazione delle nuove generazioni.

Nel semestre autunnale si terranno sessioni settimanali sull’Open Access: Gold e Green OA, licenze, copyright. Le sessioni prevedono brevi presentazioni seguite da domande. Dalle 10:30-11:30, presso la BiblioAgorà al Campus Est. Programma, date e iscrizioni online.

UrbanMetrix, startup in pre-incubazione presso l’USI Startup Centre, ha ottenuto un finanziamento tramite Innosuisse Start-up Innovation Project. Il grant accelererà il lancio sul mercato del suo software pionieristico per la progettazione urbana sostenibile che parte dai dati ambientali.

Le iscrizioni al Mentoring Professionale BPW-USI 2025-26 sono aperte fino a sabato 4 ottobre. Rivolto a studentesse di Master e Dottorato, il programma offre un percorso di mentorato guidato da professioniste esperte per sviluppare competenze, ampliare il network e affrontare le sfide professionali.

Martedì 23 settembre alle ore 20:30 presso il Teatro Tan di Biasca debutterà lo spettacolo “The game” di Trickster-p, con replica il 24. Si tratta di uno show partecipativo e intergenerazionale che, attraverso il gioco, invita a sovvertire e ripensare visioni e prospettive consolidate.

Federico Ghilotti ha ottenuto il Master in Finance all'USI nel 2021. Attualmente ricopre il ruolo di Jr. Internal Auditor presso PKB Private Bank, a Lugano.

USI has published its new Sustainability and Environmental Impact Report: a tool for monitoring results and planning measures to be implemented in the areas of environmental, social and economic sustainability at USI.

From 6 to 10 October, Startup Week will return to campus, offering students a deep dive into the world of entrepreneurship. Through a series of events, participants will have the opportunity to learn about startup investment, meet entrepreneurs, and discover how to find a co-founder.

The SNSF rejects the confederation's planned 10-11% budget cuts from 2027. At the same time, is introducing cost-saving measures to protect research and is warning of the risk of weakening Switzerland's scientific hub, jeopardising employment and the country's competitiveness.

The Chinese e-commerce giant is launching its "local-to-local" model in Switzerland, opening up the platform to local sellers. Michael Gibbert, Professor of Marketing at USI, warns: "It is a classic Trojan horse, a pointless collaboration for Swiss companies".

Greta Guarda, Professor at the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences at USI, and Roger Geiger, Professor at the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences at USI, reviewed the progress of immunotherapy in oncology in an article written in collaboration with laRegione.

The Castelgrande Lecture featuring Prof. Rino Rappuoli, leading expert in vaccinology, will be held on Tuesday, 30 September, at 5pm at Bios+ Bellinzona. The encounter, part of the celebrations for IRB's 25th anniversary, will focus on the contribution of microbes in tackling climate change.

On 3 and 4 October, USI will host the 29th Möbius Prize, dedicated to the relationship between youth and democracy in the digital age. The programme includes presentations by Gabriele Balbi, Eleonora Benecchi and Colin Porlezza on media, information and the participation of the younger generation.

UrbanMetrix, a startup pre-incubated at the USI Startup Centre, has secured funding through the Innosuisse Start-up Innovation Project. The grant will accelerate the market launch of its pioneering software for sustainable urban design that leverages environmental data.

Registration for the BPW-USI 2025-26 Professional Mentoring programme is open until Saturday, 4 October. Aimed at Master's and PhD students, the programme offers mentoring led by experienced professionals to develop skills, expand networks and tackle professional challenges.

On Tuesday, 23 September, at 8:30 pm at Teatro Tan in Biasca, Trickster-p's show "The Game" will debut, with a repeat performance on the 24th. The participatory, intergenerational show invites the audience to subvert and rethink established views and perspectives through play.
