Dal 6 ottobre al 24 novembre l’USI ospiterà la quinta edizione del corso “Cultura e Salute”, promosso con IBSA Foundation e la Città di Lugano. Per sette lunedì diversi esperti di scienza e cultura discuteranno di prescrizione sociale per la salute e il benessere, con incontri aperti al pubblico.

Il Professore Andrea-Emilio Rizzoli, Direttore dell'IDSIA USI-SUPSI, ha presentato Apertus nell'ambito della trasmissione "Il Quotidiano" della RSI. Il nuovo modello di Intelligenza artificiale sviluppato su suolo elvetico è trasparente, multilingue e allineato ai valori svizzeri.

Uno studio dell’USI pubblicato su Public Health Nutrition rivela come celebrità e influencer usino Instagram per promuovere cibi e bevande non salutari ai giovani. Quasi il 90% dei prodotti non rispetta le linee OMS. Gli autori chiedono regole più chiare e tutela dei minori nel marketing digitale.

Dal 6 ottobre al 9 dicembre l’Istituto di studi italiani propone nove serate dedicate al ciclo “Cosa può la letteratura, e come. Le forme del conflitto”. Un viaggio tra linguaggi, arti, politica e memoria per scoprire il conflitto come spazio vitale di trasformazione e consapevolezza.

Il Prof. Lorenzo Cantoni ha partecipato alla sessione straordinaria del Congresso peruviano dedicata a Machu Picchu, patrimonio UNESCO. Ha proposto un programma di “ambasciatori” per promuovere un turismo più sostenibile e rispettoso del sito.

Sono aperte le candidature per il 3° USI Alumni Award. Il premio, che sarà assegnato al Dies academicus 2026, andrà a un/una laureato/a della Facoltà di scienze economiche che si distingue per qualità, apertura e responsabilità. La scadenza per candidarsi è il 16 febbraio 2026.

All’Expo di Osaka i sogni diventano bolle. CodeLounge, del Software Institute dell'USI, trasforma le voci dei visitatori in visioni animate sul futuro, grazie all’IA. Già oltre 70'000 idee raccolte nel padiglione svizzero.

Sono aperte fino al 3 ottobre le iscrizioni per l’Hackathon “Beyond Borders”, organizzato dalla Cattedra UNESCO dell’USI, con Europeana e Photoconsortium. L'evento si terrà il 25 ottobre 2025, dalle 9:00 alle 18:30, presso l'Aula Polivalente del Campus Est USI.

Il 22 ottobre 2025, dalle 18:30 alle 20:00, all’Auditorium del Campus Ovest USI a Lugano, si terrà un incontro pubblico intitolato “Food, Tourism and Hospitality: how do they fit together?” con Sara Rosso Cipollini (Planhotel) e Carmine Garzia (UNISG), nell’ambito del progetto europeo SECreTour.

Sartiq (ex Shootify), una startup incubata presso l’USI Startup Centre, ha chiuso con successo un round di finanziamento pre-seed da CHF 2.1 milioni per accelerare la creazione di contenuti nell’ambito della moda, riducendo i tempi da settimane a sole 24 ore, grazie alla sua piattaforma enterprise.

Mercoledì 8 ottobre aspiranti imprenditori e appassionati di startup interessati a unirsi a un team e mettere a disposizione le proprie competenze si incontreranno all’USI Startup Centre per scoprire come costruire team di successo e conoscere potenziali co-founder. Venerdì 10 ottobre l’USI ospita la conferenza “Il dolore invisibile - L'importanza dell'ascolto per la salute mentale”, in occasione della Giornata Mondiale della Salute Mentale. Proiezioni e tavola rotonda con esperti ed esperte approfondiranno il ruolo dell’ascolto nella prevenzione e nella cura.

Paola Galli ha ottenuto il Master in Corporate Communication all'USI nel 2021. Attualmente ricopre il ruolo di Strategic Communications Associate presso Infront Sports & Media a Zugo.

From 6 October to 24 November, USI will host the fifth "Cultura e Salute" course, promoted by the IBSA Foundation and the City of Lugano. For seven Mondays, experts from the fields of science and culture will discuss social prescriptions for health and wellbeing in public lectures.

Professor Lorenzo Cantoni participated in the extraordinary session of the Peruvian Congress dedicated to Machu Picchu, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. He proposed an "ambassador" programme to promote more sustainable tourism that respects the site.

Applications are now open for the 3rd USI Alumni Award. The award, which will be presented at the Dies Academicus 2026, will go to a graduate of the Faculty of Economics who stands out for their quality, openness and responsibility. The deadline for applications is 16 February 2026.

At Expo Osaka, dreams become bubbles. CodeLounge, of the USI Software Institute, uses AI to transform visitors' voices into animated visions of the future. Over 70,000 ideas have already been collected in the Swiss pavilion.

On Tuesday, 30 September 2025, from 12:30 to 1:15 pm, the Equal Opportunities Service will present two initiatives aimed at female Master's students and PhD candidates, designed to support and promote women's careers in professional settings.

USI is hosting the conference "Il dolore invisibile - L'importanza dell'ascolto per la salute mentale" on Friday, 10 October, to mark World Mental Health Day. Projections and a round table discussion with experts will explore the role of listening in prevention and treatment.
