L'istituto di ricerche economiche dell'USI ha pubblicato il Rapporto 2025 sul mercato all'ingrosso dell'elettricità, che analizza l'andamento di domanda, offerta e prezzi in Svizzera e nei Paesi europei, nel quadro delle tensioni geopolitiche e delle politiche energetiche e climatiche in evoluzione.

Mercoledì 4 marzo è stata inaugurata la mostra fotografica "Memorie in dialogo", attualmente ospitata nel corridoio del Palazzo Rosso dell'USI. La serata ha offerto un momento di riflessione sulle demenze, mettendo in dialogo diverse Facoltà dell'università e il territorio.

La Fondazione Leonardo sosterrà CASE BioMed nel triennio 2026-2028, contribuendo allo sviluppo del nuovo Bio- and MedTech Business Programme al Monte Verità. Il programma nasce con l'obiettivo di favorire la crescita di competenze imprenditoriali nel settore delle scienze della vita.

Un videogame per esplorare la transizione energetica svizzera verso il 2050. "Ensured Energy", sviluppato dal consorzio SURE con il contributo dell'USI, permette di simulare decisioni reali tra costi, emissioni e sicurezza dell'approvvigionamento. Il Prof. Michael Multerer ne ha parlato alla RSI.

Sabato 28 febbraio si è svolta a Canobbio la quarta edizione di "Divertiamoci con STEAM", dedicata alle ragazze delle scuole medie. Tra le relatrici anche alcune rappresentanti dell'USI, che hanno contribuito a promuovere scienza, tecnologia e parità di genere attraverso workshop interattivi.

Giovedì 12 marzo dalle 16, presso l'Aula Magna dell'Ospedale Civico di Lugano, si terrà un pomeriggio di incontri dedicato all’attenzione e ai suoi molteplici volti: da come funziona nel cervello a cosa succede quando si altera. Evento dedicato a medici e addetti ai lavori. Iscrizione obbligatoria.

Martedì 16 marzo la Settimana del cervello offre la proiezione di questo film, che racconta di un padre con demenza senile che perde il controllo della propria realtà. L’attenzione del pubblico è messa alla prova, facendogli vivere lo stesso smarrimento del protagonista. Prenotazione consigliata.

Il digitale e l’IA hanno trasformato radicalmente il modo di lavorare, pensare e relazionarci. Ma a quale prezzo? Qual è il vero impatto di queste innovazioni su ambiente, conoscenza e società? Martedì 17 marzo al Dazio Grande di Rodi Fiesso ne parleremo con il Prof. Gabriele Balbi e Bruno Giussani.

Martedì 17 marzo a Mendrisio, l'OSC promuove l'evento "Quando abbiamo smesso di capire il mondo?" dedicato all'impatto dell'intelligenza artificiale in medicina e salute mentale. Interverranno esperti di USI, EOC e SUPSI per un confronto oltre le dicotomie tra entusiasmo e timore.

Il 19 e 20 marzo 2026 l'USI ospiterà un workshop internazionale dedicato al ruolo delle imprese nel mercato del lavoro svizzero. L'incontro riunirà docenti e ricercatori per discutere ricerche recenti nell'ambito dell'economia del lavoro, con particolare attenzione alle dinamiche aziendali.

Il 4 giugno un viaggio tra architettura e scenografia porterà alla scoperta dell’Accademia di architettura dell’USI a Mendrisio e del Teatro alla Scala di Milano. Il percorso, accompagnato dal direttore Riccardo Blumer, include inoltre i Laboratori del Teatro alla Scala Ansaldo. Iscrizioni aperte.

Il 23 marzo dalle 12:35 alle 13:30, presso l'USI Startup Centre, un'esperta dell'Istituto Federale Svizzero della Proprietà Intellettuale presenterà i fondamenti della stessa e perché proteggerla è essenziale per trasformare le idee in opportunità. L'evento è aperto a tutta la comunità USI.

Due corsi introduttivi sull’imprenditorialità di Innosuisse si svolgeranno in parallelo a Lugano e Mendrisio fino alla fine di maggio. Nelle prossime settimane, 49 partecipanti selezionati tra 92 candidati esploreranno i temi chiave per sviluppare una startup e lavoreranno in team su progetti reali.

InVirtuoLabs, una startup specializzata nella scoperta di farmaci tramite intelligenza artificiale e incubata presso USI Startup Centre, ha annunciato una collaborazione strategica con Helsinn per ottimizzare e prioritizzare nuovi candidati farmaco grazie alla propria tecnologia proprietaria.

Mercoledì 11 marzo, dalle 12:30 all'Executive Centre, presentazione delle proposte di ricerca Bachelor e Master di TicinoEnergia. Gli studenti possono registrarsi per incontrare professionisti della sostenibilità, trovare un tema di tesi e fare networking durante l'aperitivo.

Un progetto informativo sviluppato da Equi-Lab volto a sostenere genitori e caregiver attraverso una sintesi accessibile del quadro normativo svizzero in materia di maternità, congedi e misure di conciliabilità, promuovendo consapevolezza dei diritti e pari opportunità tra vita, cura e lavoro.

Alla 26ª cerimonia delle borse di studio della Fondazione Zonta Club Lugano, sette studenti e studentesse hanno ricevuto un contributo di 4'000 franchi. Tra loro anche Kristina Krebs, studentessa di medicina all'USI, premiata per l'anno accademico 2025/26.

Roberto De Maira ha ottenuto il Bachelor in Scienze economiche all'USI nel 2010. Attualmente ricopre il ruolo di Director, Strategy & Consulting – Digital Finance Transformation & Order-to-Cash Lead presso Accenture a Varsavia, in Polonia.

The USI Institute for Economic Research has published its 2025 Report on the wholesale electricity market, which analyses trends in demand, supply, and prices in Switzerland and other European countries against a backdrop of geopolitical tensions and evolving energy and climate policies.

On Wednesday, 4 March, the photographic exhibition "Memories in Dialogue" was inaugurated, currently hosted in the corridor of the USI Red Building. The evening offered a moment of reflection on dementia, fostering a dialogue between various university faculties and the local community.

Fondazione Leonardo will support CASE BioMed during the three-year period 2026-2028, contributing to the development of the new "Bio- and MedTech Business" Programme at Monte Verità. The programme was created with the aim of promoting the growth of entrepreneurial skills in the life sciences sector.

A video game to explore Switzerland's energy transition towards 2050. Developed by the SURE consortium with the contribution of USI, "Ensured Energy" allows players to simulate real decisions, balancing costs, missions, and security of supply. Prof. Michael Multerer discussed the project on RSI.

On Saturday, 28 February, the 4th "Divertiamoci con STEAM" took place in Canobbio. Dedicated to middle school girls, the event featured USI representatives who promoted scientific inquiry and critical thinking via workshops on information seeking and probability.

On Tuesday, 16 March, Brain Awareness Week offers a screening of the "The Father", a film about a father with dementia losing control of his reality. The audience's attention is tested, making them experience the same confusion as the protagonist. Reservation is recommended.

Digital and AI have radically transformed the way we work, think, and relate. At what cost? What is the true impact of these innovations on the environment, knowledge, and society? On Tuesday, 17 March at Dazio Grande in Rodi Fiesso, we will tackle this with Prof. Gabriele Balbi and Bruno Giussani.

On Tuesday, 17 March, in Mendrisio, OSC is promoting the event "When did we cease to understand the world?" dedicated to the impact of artificial intelligence on medicine and mental health. Experts from USI, EOC, and SUPSI will lead a discussion to move beyond the dichotomy of enthusiasm and fear.

On 19 and 20 March 2026, USI will host an international workshop dedicated to the role of firms in the Swiss labour market. The event will bring together academics and researchers to discuss recent research in labour economics, with a particular focus on firm dynamics.

On June 4th, a journey between architecture and scenography will lead to the discovery of USI Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio and Teatro alla Scala in Milan. The route, accompanied by director Riccardo Blumer, includes also the Teatro alla Scala Ansaldo Workshops. Registration open.

On 23 March from 12:35 to 1:30 pm, at USI Startup Centre, an expert from the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property will introduce the basics of the topic and explain why protection is key to turning ideas into opportunities. The workshop is open to the whole USI community.

Two new cohorts of the Innosuisse introductory course on entrepreneurship will run in parallel in Lugano and Mendrisio until the end of May. Over the coming weeks, 49 participants selected from 92 applicants will explore key topics in startup development and work in teams on real projects.

InVirtuoLabs, an AI-driven drug discovery startup incubated at the USI Startup Centre, has announced a strategic collaboration with Helsinn to optimise and prioritise novel drug candidates using its proprietary technology.

An outreach project developed by Equi-Lab to support parents and caregivers through an accessible summary of the Swiss legal framework on maternity, leave, and work-life balance, promoting awareness of rights and equal opportunities between life, care, and work.
