Fondato lo scorso 15 settembre, il nuovo Istituto per l'architettura sostenibile e la tecnologia dell'USI sarà inaugurato ufficialmente il 16 aprile presso l'Agorà Lio Galfetti del Palazzo Canavée a Mendrisio, con un evento dedicato alla presentazione delle sue attività e prospettive di ricerca.

Sabato 25 aprile alle 18:00 il neurobiologo Stefano Mancuso terrà l’incontro “Sostenibilità: cosa ci insegnano le piante”, serata culturale nell’ambito di UniVerso. L'evento esplorerà come le strategie di adattamento e cooperazione del mondo vegetale possano ispirare nuovi modelli di sostenibilità.

La rete Scholars at Risk celebra 25 anni di impegno per la libertà accademica. L'USI, membro dal 2016, rinnova il proprio sostegno al programma e propone un'intervista al Prof. Jean-Patrick Villeneuve, che dal 2021 ha ospitato nei suoi gruppi di ricerca 4 ricercatori nell'ambito del programma.

In un'intervista al Corriere del Ticino, Franco Cavalli e Andrea Alimonti hanno delineato le prospettive dello IOR. Al centro: il nuovo edificio di ricerca a Bellinzona, la collaborazione tra istituti e l'obiettivo di diventare un polo di riferimento per lo studio dell'invecchiamento e del cancro.

Lunedì 20 aprile Cristian Mannino, manager di FamilySearch, terrà una lezione aperta al pubblico nell'ambito del Master in International Tourism. In quell’occasione approfondirà il crescente interesse per la genealogia e il ruolo delle tecnologie digitali nella ricostruzione delle storie familiari.

Lunedì 20 aprile alle 17:30 si terrà un nuovo incontro della rassegna “Il mondo in USI”. Lo storico Maurizio Binaghi discuterà il cosiddetto “modello svizzero”, riflettendo su neutralità, federalismo, democrazia diretta e pluralismo linguistico come fattori della stabilità e prosperità del Paese.

Lunedì 20 aprile presso il Campus Est di Lugano si terrà una giornata di studio dedicata all’empatia e al comportamento sociale. Il programma prevede conferenze, discussioni e ateliers che esplorano le basi neuroscientifiche dell’empatia e le sue implicazioni nelle relazioni e nella società.

Martedì 5 maggio presso il Campus Ovest di Lugano si terrà un incontro dedicato ai temi della gestione del conflitti e della cultura riparativa. L’evento presenterà il progetto “Costruire spazi di dialogo”, sostenuto dal FNS, e permetterà di sperimentare la metodologia Lego® Serious Play®.

Sono state prolungate le iscrizioni a Swiss TecLadies 2026-2027, i programma di mentoring per ragazze dai 14 ai 19 anni alla scoperta di scienza e tecnologia. In Ticino appuntamenti all'Ideatorio USI e al Campus Est. Le candidature possono essere inviate sino al 26 aprile 2026 su tecladies.ch.

Martedì 2 giugno a Sion si terrà lo Swissnex Day 2026 dedicato al tema “Planetary Healing”. L’evento riunirà ricercatori, innovatori e artisti per discutere soluzioni tecnologiche e collaborazioni capaci di affrontare crisi climatiche, perdita di biodiversità e rigenerazione degli ecosistemi.

Due Master USI figurano nella nuova edizione della WWF Study Guide: Discover Sustainable Study Programs in Switzerland. La guida raggruppa programmi di studio che trattano in maniera approfondita il tema della sostenibilità per formare professionisti pronti a risolvere le sfide del nostro futuro.

A new encounter in the series "Il mondo in USI" will be held on Monday, 20 April at 5:30 pm. Historian Maurizio Binaghi will discuss the "Swiss model", reflecting on neutrality, federalism, direct democracy and linguistic pluralism as factors contributing to the country's stability and prosperity.

On Monday, 20 April, a study day focusing on empathy and social behaviour will be held at the East Campus Lugano. The programme includes lectures, discussions and workshops exploring the neuroscientific basis of empathy and its implications for relationships and society.
