Sono in corso le mostre "Architettura che fa Scuola" e "Progetto e Profezia. Il futuro secondo gli architetti" promosse in occasione delle celebrazioni del 25esimo dell’Università della Svizzera italiana. Le esposizioni resteranno aperte al pubblico fino a venerdì 24 dicembre 2021.
Fino all'8 ottobre 2021 sarà possibile visitare la mostra "Da ospedale a Biblioteca. La storia del legato Turconi" organizzata in occasione dell'inaugurazione della Biblioteca dell'Accademia di architettura che, a inizio 2021, si è trasferita nella nuova sede di Palazzo Turconi.
Mercoledì 16 giugno, alle ore 18.00, al Boschetto Ciani si tiene l'evento "A cosa serve la poesia", promosso da L'ideatorio dell'USI. Interverranno Fabio Pusterla, professore alla Facoltà di comunicazione, cultura e società e Vega Tescari, docente dell'Accademia di architettura.
Venerdì 18 giugno, presso la Biblioteca cantonale di Lugano, avrà luogo la presentazione delle collane "Officina" e "Biblioteca" dell'Istituto di studi italiani dell'USI. All'evento interverranno la professoressa Sara Garau e i professori Giacomo Jori e Fabio Pusterla
Si terrà online giovedì 24 giugno la tavola rotonda organizzata dall'Istituto di diritto dell'USI per promuovere la gestione sostenibile delle risorse naturali attraverso il diritto e la governance internazionali. Trovate qui le informazioni per registrarvi e partecipare all'evento via Zoom.
Il 25 giugno 2021 avrà luogo la 10ma Giornata della Ricerca in Medicina Umana della Svizzera italiana. L'evento si svolgerà in maniera ibrida: ospiti e relatori in presenza mentre gli iscritti parteciperanno online via Zoom. Trovate le novità e il programma definitivo sulla pagina ufficiale.

Laghi, luce, vita. I ghiacciai stanno sparendo. Natura e letteratura. Sono queste le tre escursioni organizzate da L'ideatorio e dal Servizio sport, in occasione dei 25 anni dell'Università, per favorire momenti di incontro tra i dipendenti dell'USI.
25 giorni a disposizione. 25 vette da raggiungere. Un compleanno da celebrare. Dall'1 al 25 agosto, in occasione del 25esimo anniversario dell’USI, il Servizio sport propone la scalata di alcune delle vette più significative del Canton Ticino.
La quarta edizione del Middle East Mediterranean Summer Summit si svolgerà, a Lugano, dal 21 al 28 agosto 2021. Il Summit si concentrerà, fornendo strumenti per affrontarne la complessità, sull’attualità della regione MEM e sugli sconvolgimenti che l’hanno interessata nel 2020.
Si terrà dal 3 al 5 settembre la USI25 Alumni Reunion, sia sui campus di Lugano e Mendrisio sia online, per tutti i 10.000 laureati dell’USI. Se sei un alumnus/a iscriviti all’evento per rivedere i tuoi vecchi compagni di classe e i professori. Trovi qui il programma. Ti aspettiamo!
Si terrà giovedì 16 settembre la conferenza pubblica per presentare le attività dell'Osservatorio sulla criminalità organizzata attraverso l’intervento di magistrati italiani e svizzeri che testimonieranno le difficoltà incontrate nel perseguimento di simili reati.
Il 16 e il 18 settembre a Locarno, presso il Dipartimento Formazione ed Apprendimento della SUPSI, avrà luogo il 31esimo Congresso Annuale dell'Associazione Latina per l'Analisi dei Sistemi di Salute. Il tema centrale dell'evento sarà l'appropriatezza delle cure.
Il 17, 18 e 19 settembre le matricole potranno partecipare ad un evento per incontrare nuovi compagni e compagne, ricevere informazioni di prima mano sui servizi e su tutti gli aspetti pratici dell'USI, scoprire la regione e prepararsi a iniziare al meglio la loro avventura accademica.
Il 24 e 25 settembre l'Istituto di studi italiani dell'USI propone il convegno "La vita delle cose". L'evento, suddiviso in quattro sezioni, ha l'obiettivo di riconsiderare il problema del "realismo" dantesco. Interverranno gli autori Antonella Anedda, Fabio Pusterla e Harry Clifton.
L'evento congiunto USI, SUPSI e Città di Lugano si terrà sabato 25 settembre dalle 9.00 alle 17.30 sul nuovo Campus Est. L’intento di "Festa in corte" è quello di favorire la reciproca conoscenza e l’incontro tra il mondo universitario e quello locale di chi abita o opera nei tre quartieri.
Il 27 settembre incontreremo il premio Nobel per la chimica Jacques Dubochet. Lo scienziato svizzero, appassionato del rapporto tra scienza e società, ci racconterà la sua storia, le sue ricerche e il ruolo che la scienza e gli scienziati dovrebbero avere nella nostro vivere quotidiano.
Si terrà online dal 14 al 18 giugno Ia Summer School Metodi di intelligenza artificiale applicati all’analisi dell’imaging intravital. Al centro gli aspetti teorici e pratici dell’applicazione di nuovi metodi basati sull’intelligenza artificiale per l'analisi del comportamento dei globuli bianchi.
Si terrà dal 19 al 30 luglio la Summer School che si concentra sullo sfruttamento efficace dei sistemi ibridi ad alte prestazioni (HPC) con un'attenzione particolare all'analisi dei dati. Il contenuto del corso è su misura per studenti laureati intermedi. Trovate qui maggiori informazioni.
Torna la "Digitise, Optimise, Visualise" Summer School dell'USI. Al centro vi saranno la scienza dei dati, i metodi di ottimizzazione per la finanza empirica e l'apprendimento automatico applicato. Gli studenti apprenderanno le basi matematiche rilevanti e come formulare e risolvere i problemi.
La SSPH + Summer School in Public Health Policy, Economics and Management compie 30 anni quest'anno! L'edizione 2021 si terrà online il 16, 18 e 23-28 agosto e includerà 15 corsi e 10 conferenze plenarie che affronteranno questioni vitali e argomenti cruciali nell’ambito della salute pubblica.
Si terrà dal 29 agosto al 4 settembre la Summer School che indagherà il ruolo della comunicazione digitale nella costituzione dell'immagine nazionale, con riferimento all'industria della moda creativa. L'evento è dedicato a studenti di master, dottorandi e professionisti del settore.

The ongoing exhibitions "Architecture which teaches" and "Project and Prophecy. The Future According to Architects" promoted for the celebrations of the 25th anniversary of Università della Svizzera italiana will be open to the public until Friday, 24 December 2021.
Until 8 October 2021 it will be possible to visit the exhibition "From Hospital to Library. The history of the Turconi legacy" organised for the inauguration of the Academy of Architecture Library which, at the beginning of 2021, moved to its new premises in Palazzo Turconi.
On Wednesday, 16 June, at 6 pm, the Boschetto Ciani will host the event (in Italian) "A cosa serve la poesia", promoted by USI L'ideatorio, featuring Fabio Pusterla, Professor at the Faculty of Communication, Culture and Society and Vega Tescari, Professor at the Academy of Architecture.
The presentation of the series "Officina" and "Biblioteca" by USI Institute of Italian Studies will be held on Friday, 18 June (in Italian) at the Cantonal Library of Lugano. Professor Sara Garau and Professors Giacomo Jori and Fabio Pusterla will take part in the event.
The roundtable organised by USI Law Institute to promote the sustainable management of natural resources through international law and governance will be held online on Thursday, 24 June. At the link, all information to register and participate in the event via Zoom.

Lakes, light, life. Glaciers are disappearing. Nature and literature. These are the three hiking trips organised by L'ideatorio and the Sport Service, for the University's 25th anniversary to promote moments of encounter among USI employees.
25 peaks to reach in 25 days. A birthday to celebrate. From 1 to 25 August, to celebrate USI's 25th anniversary, the Sports Service proposes to climb some of the most remarkable mountains in Ticino.
The fourth Middle East Mediterranean Summer Summit will take place in Lugano, from 21 to 28 August 2021. Providing tools to address its complexity, the Summit will focus on the current state of affairs in the MEM region and the upheavals affecting it in 2020.

The public conference to present the activities of the Observatory on Organised Crime will be held on Thursday, 16 September, featuring Italian and Swiss magistrates who will speak of the difficulties encountered in the prosecution of such crimes.
The 31st Annual Congress of the Latin Association for Health Systems Analysis will be held (in Italian) on 16-18 September in Locarno, at SUPSI Department of Education and Learning. The focus of the event will be on the appropriateness of care.
On 17, 18, and 19 September, first-year students will be able to attend an event to meet new classmates, get first-hand information about services and all practical aspects of USI, discover the region, and prepare to get off to the best possible start on their academic adventure.
On 24 and 25 September, USI Institute of Italian Studies proposes the conference "La vita delle cose". The event, divided into four parts, aims to reconsider the problem of Dante's "realism". The authors Antonella Anedda, Fabio Pusterla and Harry Clifton, will speak.
Organised by USI, SUPSI and City of Lugano the event "Festa in corte" aims to foster mutual understanding and the encounter between the university and the world of those who live or work in the three districts. It will be held on Saturday, 25 September from 9 am to 5:30 pm on the new East Campus.
An encounter with Nobel Prize laureate in Chemistry Jacques Dubochet will be held on 27 September. The Swiss scientist, passionate about the relationship between science and society, will tell us his story, his research and the role that science and scientists should play in our daily lives.
The summer school Artificial Intelligence Methods Applied to the Analysis of Intravital Imaging will be held online from 14 to 18 June. The focus will be on theoretical and practical aspects regarding the application of new A.I. -based method for the analysis of white blood cell behaviour.
The summer school will focus on the effective exploitation of state-of-the-art hybrid High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems with a particular focus on Data Analytics. It will be held 19-30 July. The course content is tailored for intermediate graduate students. Find more information here.
USI's "Digitise, Optimise, Visualise" Summer School is back. The focus will be on data science, optimisation methods for empirical finance, and applied machine learning. Students will learn the relevant mathematical foundations and how to formulate and solve problems.
The SSPH + Summer School in Public Health Policy, Economics and Management turns 30 this year! The 2021 edition will be held online on 16, 18, and 23-28 August and will include 15 courses and 10 plenary lectures addressing vital issues and crucial topics in public health.
The Summer School to investigate the role of digital communication in the constitution of the national image, with specific reference to creative fashion, will be held from 29 August to 4 September. The event is dedicated to master's students, PhD students and industry professionals.
