Titled "Taste the past. Digital media for Byzantine heritage and authentic experiences in Northern Greece", it will take place from 7 to 14 February 2026 in Thessaloniki and Kastoria. Byzantine heritage is in the spotlight, explored through field visits and authentic experiences.

University students and young digital creators interested in digital cultural heritage, cultural promotion and sustainable tourism are invited at USI on 25.10 for a day of creativity and reflections about the role of open access collections in digital storytelling supporting heritage tourism.
On 8.09 Elide discussed her PhD work titled “Understanding smart destinations and their data management practices. The view of practitioners”. She investigated how tourism practitioners understand and implement the concept of smart destinations, focusing on data management practices and challenges.

Organized by 4 UNESCO Chairs, it took place from 21 to 28.08 in Perù, and brought together over 40 participants, to explore the use of ICTs to manage overtourism, especially in Machu Picchu, with a strong commitment of the Peruvian Ministry of Culture. UNESCO delivered a press release on the event.
On 23.09, the Culture and Cultural Heritage Committee of the Congress of Peru held an extraordinary session focused on the historic sanctuary of Machu Picchu to discuss critical issues concerning the protection and sustainable management of the site. L. Cantoni and A. Gavazzi were invited to speak.
